A confined space is one where there is a realistic expectation of a specified risk. The course involves working as a team and requires candidates to use environmental monitoring, escape breathing apparatus and access equipment. This course aims to ensure candidates have an understanding of the risks of working in a confined space.
The course content varies depending on the level of course under taken, however, by the end of the course, you will have an understanding of:
- Preparing to work safely in confined spaces
- Entering and exiting a confined space safely
- Using equipment and tools safely
- Following working procedures and work safely
- Dealing with emergencies
- Understanding the principles of working in confined spaces
- Understanding standard protocols for working in confined spaces
This course is delivered in a classroom environment, with group interaction throughout.

Anyone who works in an environment which requires entering, and exiting confined spaces safely, using equipment and tools safely, following procedures and dealing with emergencies.
