Course Aim

The purpose of the Abrasive Wheels Awareness training is to provide candidates with the knowledge and skills in safe storage, transport and mounting of abrasive wheels.

Course Content

The course covers portable grinders, angle grinders, disc cutters and bench mounted grinding machines and shall cover: 

  • Legislation & responsibilities 
  • Hazards, risks and controls 
  • Markings and selection 
  • PPE 
  • Components and functions 
  • Inspection 
  • Assembling & Mounting 
  • Hand Arm Vibration 
  • Storing and transporting 

This course is delivered in a classroom environment, with group interaction throughout.

Who should attend

This course would be relevant for operatives of abrasive wheels and those with supervisory responsibilities. 

How to prepare

There are no candidate pre-requisites for this course.

½ day classroom  

Assessment

Candidates will be required to contribute and engage throughout the course, with the instructor continually observing each candidate to monitor their learning and understanding.   

Customers can opt to have a certificate of attendance or a certificate of achievement.  If opting for achievement, candidates will be required to pass a short multiple choice question paper at the end of the course.

Price

£85 per person +VAT | Group bookings from £80 +VAT per person

Validity

It is recommended that candidates renew their certificate every 3 years.
