Course Aim

This REHIS accredited 3-day course is designed for designated workplace first aiders, who play a crucial role in providing immediate care for a wide range of potential accidents, injuries and illnesses that may occur in their workplace.

Course Content

Successful candidates will gain the following skills:

  • Understand the role of a first-aider, including preventing cross infection, recording incidents, and using equipment.
  • Assess situations and act promptly and safely in emergencies.
  • Administer first aid to an unconscious casualty, perform CPR, and use an automated external defibrillator.
  • Provide first aid for a choking casualty, a casualty with wounds and bleeding, and a casualty suffering from shock.
  • Offer appropriate first aid for minor injuries and specific conditions like injuries to bones, muscles, and joints, chest injuries, burns, scalds, eye injuries, sudden poisoning, and anaphylactic shock.
  • Recognise major illnesses and provide appropriate first aid for a heart attack, stroke, epilepsy, asthma, and diabetes.

Training is conducted in a classroom environment with interactive group sessions.

Who should attend First Aid at Work

For people who are required to be first aiders within their workplace. 

There are no candidate pre-requisites for this course. 

Where to attend First Aid at Work

Courses are held at our training centre in Kirkcaldy, delivered by our team of instructors.

This course can also be delivered to groups at your location, or at a location close to you by one of our carefully selected third party providers.

3 days

Assessment

Assessment will include 6 x Practical assessments and 2 x Theory assessments (Multiple Choice Question Papers).

£275 +VAT per person.

Closed course delivery and discounts available for groups of 6 and above.

 

Validity

It is recommended that candidates undergo annual refresher training before full re-certification after three years.
